Know your Rights - Learn your Options
Since 2005, Justice In Education has successfully provided advocacy and legal representation to many hundreds of families of children with disabilities.
When can Justice In Education help:
- Starting at Age 3
- When First Diagnosed
- Low Academic Performance
- Moved from or to another school district
- Administrative Due Process Hearing
- Suspensions and Expulsions
Referrals are welcome for all of the following: consultations for families working with school districts, training in advocacy for special education needs children, assistance in advocacy for parents working with school districts, and legal assistance as needed for administrative due process
Initial Consultation: Free
Free Services: Legal Aid Society of Orange County provides free and low-cost civil legal services to low-income families. To see if you qualify for legal representation at no cost, please call Legal Aid Society of Orange County at (714) 752-5200. After the initial intake and a referral is received, Justice In Education will contact to schedule a consultation.
Private Clients: During free initial consultation, a JIE representative will review JIE fees for attorney or advocate support, as well as the JIE retainer fee. Private clients may be eligible for discounted fees and a monthly payment plan, based on income and size of family. JIE was established in 2005 to make special education representation more affordable and accessible for families previously lacking this support.
